Profile

As a designer maker, I craft decorative and extravagant pieces in my studio out of sterling silver and colourful gemstones, combining traditional with new techniques. Hammered, sawn, soldered, and 3D printed. Set with gems such as topaz, rhodolite garnet, peridot, spessartite, chrome diopside. From star set to channel set, from marquises to baguettes.

All items are handmade by myself, and to my own designs. Inspired by decorative arts movements from Moorish tiling through Arts and Crafts to Art Deco, and architecture from the Alhambra to Thomas Heatherwick. I have a long interest in how design influences cross cultures. Hand-making connects us to a historic artisanal world, and values of fulfilment through making objects of beauty. This is brought into the present for me by shaping and joining metal, being In Flow, using precision tools and techniques.

I have recently graduated from the prestigious Birmingham School of Jewellery with Distinction, winning a prize; and also reached the UK final of the Jewellery World Skills competition. I  have recently exhibited my final collection at the London New Designers Fair 2019, and opened my studio to the public for Cambridge Open Studios 2019
