Japanese Pheasant Earrings
Design based on a Japanese silk screen, covered with gold. The screen depicts a classic Japanese pheasant, made originally by famed screen-maker Ikegami Shuho, in the twenties.
This design is a print onto aluminium drop earrings. The underlying brushed aluminium glints to emphasise the gold colouring, the gently domed body catching the light.
Very lightweight at just 2 grams, despite their statement size (4cm drop), and fitted onto sterling silver ear wire studs (as shown in photos - select "post & butterfly" fitting). They are so comfortable to wear. The colour is sealed inside the surface by anodising. The item comes beautifully packaged, ready for gifting.
I craft all pieces by hand in my studio, being classically trained at Birmingham School of Jewellery.
