Tiger Lily Pendant
A design based on a Japanese lacquer box, held at Denver Art Museum. The box was made by renowned lacquer-maker Umezawa Ryushin, in the twenties. It depicts tiger lilies and the classic Japanese maple leaf.
The design is a print onto an aluminium pendant. The underlying brushed aluminium glints through to emphasise the colours, the gently domed body catching the light,
Very lightweight at just 2 grams, despite its size (5 cm pendant height), and fitted onto sterling silver curb chain. So comfortable to wear. The colour is sealed inside the surface by anodising. The item comes beautifully packaged, ready for gifting. I craft all pieces by hand in my studio, being classically trained at Birmingham School of Jewellery.
